At a packed media event in New York last week, Samsung unveiled their highly-anticipated Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ smartphones. The phones launch on August 21 in the US. For CEVA, these are the two more Samsung flagship smartphones where they are using their internally developed LTE modem powered by our DSPs, following on from the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge announced earlier in the year.
Together with Spreadtrum , Leadcore and Intel, these four companies are now all shipping LTE chipsets in volume powered by CEVA DSPs. In total in 2014, only 11 million CEVA-powered LTE devices shipped worldwide. In 2015 year to date, more than 43 million CEVA-powered LTE devices have shipped and we expect that to reach 60 to 70 million devices by the end of the year. We will update our progress next when we report our Q3 earnings in late October.
